LifeHack Lesson 4: Send Money Using BPI Online Beta

7:00 PM angeLjamie 0 Comments

Need to send money on the fly and can’t manage to activate that 3rd party fund transfer from your BPI mobile app? I got just the solution.  Try BPI Online Beta.
Its web based and uses the same username and password you use for your BPI Expressonline account.  Site address is https://beta.bpiexpressonline.com/portalserver/onlinebanking/sign-in

The facade is very, very clean and transactions are easily manageable from the left-side condensed menu.

Compared to the current BPI Expressonline site, where your accounts are readily visible upon log-in, BPI Beta opens to a welcome page.  You'll need to click the My Account link to view your balance.  It's actually nice and allows you to hide your finances from snoops.

To transfer money, simply click Transfer Money and follow their 3-step prompt.

1.       Choose the account where the fund would come from and the value to transfer.
2.       Click whether to transfer the account to your other BPI accounts or to a 3rd party.  Choosing 3rd party will prompt you to enter the account number of the receiver.

4.       Review your transaction details and click Confirm.

5.       An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

6.       Enter the OTP number on the space provided.

7.       Lastly, you’ll get a successful transaction page.

Reptiland Adventure – Tagaytay Side Trip Part II

7:00 PM angeLjamie 0 Comments

Reptiland Adventure is located at Alfonso, Cavite--a town near the hills of Tagaytay.  Driving to Reptiland takes about 30mins from rotunda with moderate traffic.  We saw the signage while on our way to Gingerbread house and decided that it could be a fun place to visit; what with dinosaur statues dotting the area.  My boys love dinosaur, especially France.  He’ll like it.

So, after our time at Gingerbread house—read all about it here, we turn the car around and headed to Reptiland Adventure.  It was late in the afternoon then.  About 4PM and I was hesitant if they would allow us inside the park.

Entrance fee posted is P300 per head, which is high considering that we would only have a few hours inside the park and we’re a party of four.  The attendant saw my hesitation and decided to offer me a discount--P1000 for us four.  Money exchanged hands and I saw her going on radio and advising whoever is inside the park that guests are coming.

Props at the entrance look well-made and that got me a bit excited.  Plus, we’re hearing jungle noises, ala Jurassic Park.

So we ventured inside, walk the winding path and trek down the hill to look for reptiles.

Sadly, the only reptile they have that might still be alive is a phython. Curled on itself and looking dead or at least very annoyed.  Not even a house lizard on site! Just that one python!

But they do have this impressive life-size props of famous Disney characters and super heroes.

They also have cool animatronics.  The sound, movement and how it was made was on point.

They look like props on a movie set.  Selfie time.

We wonder around some more looking for other exhibit they might have and came across this hanging bridge.

There’s a horseback ride, using a single dour looking pony.  Price of which is not included on the entrance fee.

This giant bike is nice.

There's also a butterfly sanctuary, but we can’t find the entrance too it, nor do we see any butterfly from the outside.

Lastly, we saw this huge playground with faux-grass carpeting.

There’s a very nice mural of popular anime characters on the side that got our attention.

This is where the kids had a blast, literally rolling down the hill, running around and just being a kid.

Dean tried to do the same stunt, cause why not?

How To: Pay Your Philam Life Premium With BPI Expressonline

7:00 PM angeLjamie 0 Comments

Getting your child a college educational plan with insurance tie up is a no-brainer decision even in this time of free tertiary education.  Instead of being a restraint on your budget, doing so would actually help you in managing your finances.  Think of it as paying it now while you have the means and time to do so, as opposed to scrambling in the future when you already need it.  Plus, since the premium is already on your budget and accounted for, any surplus can be considered as shopping money.

I got our kid’s plan with Philam Life, as I believe that they’re the best partner for my family considering what I need and what the company can provide.

Paying your premiums is very easy especially if you’re an existing BPI Expressonline user.  Make sure you have your policy number and mobile phone with you, and follow these easy steps:

·       Enrolling your Philam Life Policy to BPI Expressonline

1.       Log-in to your BPI Expressonline account (https://www.bpiexpressonline.com)

2.       On the top most menu, choose Payments & Reloading >> Bills Payment >> Enroll All Other Bills

3.       From the list of merchants, pick PHILAM LIFE (PLIFE)

4.       Input your Policy number and Security answer on the space provided.
5.       Click Submit.

Recently, BPI added another layer of security by adding an OTP during bills enrollment.  Make sure that your mobile number is updated to receive the 6-digit OTP number.

6.       Click the button ‘Send OTP via SMS …’

7.       Input the OTP number on the space provided and click Continue.

That’s the 1st part.  You’ll receive a notification that your enrollment is successful and you can now pay your premium.
·
     Paying your policy premium

1.       From the top menu choose Payments & Reloading >> Pay Bills Today

2.       Choose the PLIFE merchant you’ve enrolled.

3.       Enter the premium amount on the space provided.
4.       Choose which account would be debited for your payment.
5.       Click Submit.

And you’re done.  You’ve paid your premium on time and with no hassle.  A neat trick I do is renaming my bills list with BPI Expressonline.  It makes it simpler to identify which electric bill, mobile bill or policy number I’m paying and avoids double payment. To know how, follow this link.

Caveat, this is not a paid post and I’m in no way affiliated with Philam Life.  But, should you have further questions or comments or would like to know more, hit me up with a comment and I’ll answer them to the best of my ability.

Gingerbread House – Tagaytay Side Trip I

7:00 PM angeLjamie 0 Comments

Gingerbread House, located at Alfonso, Cavite is a side trip that you can add to your Tagaytay itinerary.  The place is about 30mins away from the rotunda and can be reached thru the Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway.  Just make a right turn at Alilio drive and follow the signage that dotted the roads.  Here’s a reference shot taken from Google Streetview.

If you are commuting from Manila, take either the Tagaytay-Nasugbu or Tagaytay-Balayan bus and alight at Barangay Upli.  Then, take a trike all the way to Gingerbread House.

Jeepneys going to Balayan are also available from the rotunda.

Entrance fee is P50 per head, while babies and toddlers are free.  Parking space is also available for those bringing their car.

Kids and kids at heart would be delighted to roam around the place and take pictures at various settings.

 Tiny house

Swings

Make sure your photos are properly framed.

There’s a fish spa for tired feet at P50 for 15minutes.

The big house is actually a restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We didn’t try to eat since the place is packed and we just had a late lunch.

A colleague mentioned that they also sell breads and cookies at the place; however, when we arrived there’s nothing on the glass shelves.  Maybe they’re that good, that people already bought them all?

The place is open daily from 8:00AM to 6:00PM.  So if you’re looking for a different place to have breakfast or snack, try the Gingerbread House.
